Last Night’s Highlights:

  1. The Red Sox had a rest day to prep for their upcoming 4-game series with Baltimore.
  2. The Celtics are also resting in preparation for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs versus Cleveland.
  3. Final preparations are being made around town for the annual Boston Marathon.
  4. Bill Belichick celebrated his 63rd birthday as well as 15th anniversary with QB Tom Brady who was drafted 15 years ago to the day.

  1. The second group Stanley Cup Playoffs began their quests for the Cup:
    • PIT 1-2 NYR (G1)
    • DET 3-2 TB (G1)
    • MIN 4-2 STL (G1)
    • WPG 2-4 ANA (G1)
  2. Viking’s RB Adrian Peterson has officially been reinstanted by the NFL effective Friday.
    • Peterson, who led the league in rushing in 2013, was indefinitely suspended from the NFL after he was charged with multiple instances of child abuse.
    • A big question surrounding him now is whether is if he will remain with the Vikings or seek a new team to play for.
  3. ESPN suspended Britt McHenry for 1 week after her viral video surfaced of her berating a tow-truck employee.
  4. P.K. Subban will NOT face a suspension after a brutal slash to Mark Stone (OTT).
    • Subban recieved a 5-min major and game misconduct and was ejected from Game 1.
    • Ottawa coach Dave Cameron will also not be fined for his post-game comments about Subban’s penalty but promises “retaliation”.

  • The Red Sox (6-3) look to get back on track as they host AL East opponent Baltimore (5-4) tonight at 7:10 PM
    • Joe Kelly (1-0, 1.29 ERA) will face Ubaldo Jimenez (1-0, 0.00 ERA)

Last Night’s Highlights:

  1. Red Sox fail to sweep the Nationals dropping game 3, 10-5.
    • Wade Miley goes 2.1 IP with 1 SO and 7 ER
    • Bogaerts returned to line-up after undergoing MRI Tuesday, Sandoval did not play (foot).
    • Ramirez hits his 4th HR of the season.
  2. The Celtics finish their regular season on a high note beating the Bucks 105-100.
    • Luigi Datome lead the team with 22 pts in 27 minutes.
    • Crowder and Babb DNP (rest)
  3. Game 1 between the Celtics and Cavaliers will start on April 19th (Tip-off TBA).
  4. Aaron Hernandez was found guilty of 1st degree murder and 5 other charges and sentenced to life w/o parole.
  5. The Bruins part ways with GM Peter Chiarelli after 9 seasons with the team.
  6. A moment of silence was held at Fenway during the game at 2:49 PM to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings on it’s 2-year anniversary.
  7. BC’s Oliver Hanlan declares for the NBA Draft.

  1. The Stanley Cup Playoffs got off to a start last night with a share of blowouts and barfights.
    • OTT 3-4 MTL (G1)
    • NYI 4-1 WSH (G1)
    • CHI 4-3 NSH [2OT ](G1)

  2. The USMNT beat Mexico 2-0 in their International friendly match. This is the 6th straight win over Mexico for the USA.
    • Jozy Altidore did not play (suspension for red card v. Switzerland).
    • Jordan Morris (49′) scores first International goal in first appearance for the USA.
    • Juan Agudelo (72′) secured the 2-0 victory.
  3. Baseball teams around the country acknowledge Jackie Robinson by wearing the famous ’42’ on their jerseys.
  4. Anthony Davis comes up HUGE for the Pelicans having a double-double (29 pts, 12 reb) in their win over the Spurs.
    • New Orleans secures their first playoff appearance since 2011, eliminate Oklahoma City.
